TD's CODE OF CONDUCT

1. NEUTRALITY
Remember in a tournament we are supposed to be as neutral as possible. The most important thing is to stop the crisis before it gets too out of hand. Its best to request that everyone quit arguing, and suggest that they go to a table and speak with you alone. OR if they would like to send an email to the Admin to explain the situation. If two parties cannot seem to get along respectfully ask them to stop all conversing with each other. DO NOT SINGLE OUT ONE OF THE PLAYERS or play favorites.

2.  NO ARGUING Don't lower yourself to arguments. It won’t help. If people insist on insulting you-- you may inform them in a diplomatic way, that they don't have to play in your tournaments. There are other TD's whom they may like better and who might better handle that person. You are not able to ban someone from the ladder. Inform the person that if they have a complaint against you that you are sorry they disagree but, for the sake of the other players, further comments about the situation need to be stopped while in game. Tell them you will be happy to chat with them about it later or that they may take it up with an Admin. If they continue to argue or cause a disruption tell them need to cease or you will recommend further action be taken against them. This goes for players arguing with each other also. In these types of scenario’s always email Admin about the situation as soon as possible.

4. GAME MANIPULATION AND SUSPICIONS OF
Please do not assume that one player is telling the truth over another. If at all possible, you need to get proof by copying and pasting what you were told so that you have a record of it as well as screen shots of the table. This way you can prove that this player actually did try to manipulate the game to thier advantage. Do not threaten the players with banning. That is not your place to say or do if however it can be completely proven that manipulation did take place you may DQ that player from your tourney. Then send all the information to Admin asap.

5. NON-LEAGUE MEMBERS When a non-league member enters the room you should be curteous and supportive if they need assistance.  This way we maybe able to recruit some players while at the same time being friendly will make them more acceptable and understanding when you may have to ask them to turn off caps and such things. * Special Note: When someone presses the abuse button before they are booted out, it records the ENTIRE conversation and sends it to pogo abuse department. If there were derogatory or rude things said by ANYONE they risk losing their pogo screen name so always refrain from un-necessary threats etc... to all people.

6. DO NOT ABUSE THE POWER GIVEN TO YOU TO HOLD THESE TOURNAMENTS.
For example do not say derogatory things towards players like ha ha I am a td and you aren't etc. Do not say things like I can ban you from the room cause I am a td. Negativity is a killer, if your having a bad day keep the negativity out of the room!

7. HELP IS HERE If you do run into an impossible situation please try hard to IM an Admin. They will be glad to help if they are online. Do not make up rules, do not answer any questions if you in any way are unsure of the proper course of action to be taken and do not use phrases such as I’m the TD and what I say goes. Simply tell them that at this time this is your decision but you will talk to an Admin and inform them of the decision you made. If you have no answer for them due to not being sure simply tell them you need the advice of an Admin, but that someone will get back in touch with them as soon as possible.

8. RUNNING OF THIS LEAGUE: You need to communicate your concerns to us. The TD's are an intricate part of this league and we want them to always feel comfortable talking openly to us. If you don't get along with one of your fellow TD’s you are still expected to respect their decision and do not publicly announce disagreements with them at any time. If you are in another TD’s tourney and you see something you would have handled differently save it for later through an IM and then explain the problem you saw or go to an Admin and let them speak to them. This way there is no host in a room "downing" another host. This will not be tolerated. Also Do NOT down another Host to any other members at any time, this is unfair to both the Host and the members. Our members should never feel they need to choose one Host over another this will only create a hostile environment when this should all be fun.

9. WHEN YOU PLAY TOURNAMENTS: Please remember when you play in other director's tournaments you are still representing the league. Your behavior should reflect this. Telling off a league player or even non- league players is not acceptable. It would be nice if all league players and Host’s got along but we all know people have personality clashes and bad days. Players don’t owe you anything, please remember that. Insulting you is not called for but neither is insulting them in retaliation. Two wrongs don’t make it right. Just because you’re a Host doesn't mean you can omit the rules that you ask the others to go by. You should also keep in mind that how you conduct yourself when you are yourself are a player will partially determine how successful you will be in getting people to join your tourneys as well as how they will respect you when you host.

10. YOUR IDEAS If you have any comments, suggestions, thoughts, helpful hints, etc. please feel free to mention them to us. We are always looking to keep things new and fun for all of our people and would be thankful for the suggestions.

11. REMEMBER Periodically we will be adding Head td's and/or Admins as the league expands. Keep this in mind as you conduct your tourneys and play in other Host's tourneys. Keep your words accurate and appropriate for your status. Above all remember that any player on our ladder at any time has access to the Admin's, HTD's and yourselves. They can e-mail us at any time for problems and concerns they have for the tournaments and the way they are run.
